Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and FamilySlate for using familyslate.org and its apps. By creating an account or using FamilySlate, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use FamilySlate.
Who can use FamilySlate
You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms. Children do not have accounts.
Your account
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
Admins, primary and secondary people
Each calendar has one admin, who invites people, decides what they can see, and approves every event and change. The admin can hand the role to a primary person. You agree to only invite people you have the right to share your family's information with.
Your content
You own what you add. You give us permission to store, show and process it only to run FamilySlate for you and the people you share with. You confirm you have the right to add any information about children and other people.
Records
FamilySlate keeps a permanent history of requests and approvals. We work to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee it will be accepted by any court or agency, and it is not legal advice.
Acceptable use
- Don't use FamilySlate to harass, threaten or harm anyone.
- Don't add false information to mislead others or a court.
- Don't try to see calendars you weren't given, break security, or overload the service.
- Don't resell or copy FamilySlate.
Plans and payment
- New calendars get a free trial. After that, the admin pays monthly or yearly for the plan they choose.
- Payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the seller of record and may add sales tax.
- Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in Settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Except where the law requires, payments are not refundable.
- If payment stops, the calendar becomes view-only so you can still export it.
- We may change prices with advance notice.
- Free or discount codes are personal, limited, and can be withdrawn if misused.
Notifications and emails
We send emails needed to run your account. Phone notifications are optional and you can turn them off at any time. Delivery depends on your device and isn't guaranteed, so don't rely on them for emergencies.
Connected apps
If you connect Whole Home or another app, that app's own terms apply to it. You can stop the connection at any time.
Ending your account
You can stop using FamilySlate at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Some records may be kept as described in our Privacy Policy.
No guarantees
FamilySlate is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it working and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Always double-check important pick-ups, travel and appointments.
Limit of responsibility
To the extent the law allows, FamilySlate is not responsible for indirect losses, missed events, or disputes between family members. Our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the change is important, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use FamilySlate means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where FamilySlate's owner lives, unless your local law says otherwise.
